A Bit About The Event And How We Started

Some Of The Team At The Setup
• Bringing arts and culture to the community.

• Show young people in a positive light
(With articles in: Evening Post, Adverts on GWR, Original FM, Radio Bristol and online).

• Brings big events more local

Two youth workers had an idea for a small scale event and found some young people interested in sorting it out. More and more people were interested and the crew began to form. We worked over 10 months to organise the event – 2000 people came, 20 bands played, there were 10 workshops and 40 young stewards.  Fraser (a young person from Kingswood) said ‘it was the best day of my life, for the first time I was proud to live in Kingswood’.  We want to run the event again this year and make it bigger and better.  We are a new group of people organising it – many of us came to the event in 2007.

The Team

Some Of The Team At The SetupWe are a group of young people aged between 13 and 20. There are 15 of us in the group. Donna likes chocolate. Amy’s past times are playing guitar saxophone and tae kwon do. Mel wishes she had longer hair and likes meeting new people she is always hyperactive. Jaimie doesn’t need an excuse to talk lots.  Andy and Dan love music and are always on about it, Joe likes peanuts, Rhiannon loves having fun also enjoys doing sign language and rugby, Dave is the one who always farts, Khalid likes Angels and Airwaves and met the lead singer once.  Antony, Joel, Holly, Sandy and Mary all did it last year and will guide the group through the event this year.
